The main aim of the current training was to familiarize visitors from Iran with the basic training methods of Karate Tsunami.
The first part of the training was to familiarize sportsmen from Iran with warm-up (junbin-taiso) carried out on Tsunami Karate trainings. The rules for that warm-up set up in 1979, the founder of this style soke Richard Murat 10 dan, and it is based on his experience and modern scientific basis.
Warm-up not only prepares the body to the intense training in the main part, but it can be used as an independent training all-developmental to raise health and fitness. Warm-up was presented in outline in the book of Richard Murat - bestseller "Karate for Beginners and Advanced".
Later, hanshi Vladimir Parfieniuk 8 dan ran with visitors from Iran, characteristic for Tsunami training of selected techniques and their combinations, and basic gettings out of a line of an attack.
Then hanshi Vladimir Parfieniuk 8 dan discussed one of the basic training method used in Karate Tsunami: makiwara-kumite.
Into Karate Tsunami soke Richard Murat 10 dan introduced three basic variants makiwara-kumite:
-
basic variant – to practice of single techniques (waza) and combinations (renraku-waza),
-
advanced variant - to practice going off a line of attack and also counterattacks,
-
masterly variant - to practice fighting with the aggressor, which represents a bag.
The third of these options was used during Karate Tsunami Championships as a sports event. Thanks to this, persons preparing for this event naturally raise their level of preparation to the real fight.
After the show makiwara-kumite, which presented hanshi Vladimir Parfieniuk 8 dan, this method one by one tried all visitors from Iran.
Later hanshi Vladimir Parfieniuk 8 dan, discussed another method of training, which soke Richard Murat 10 dan introduced to Karate Tsunami: tokui-kata (own form, spontaneous form).
This is the form of learning against several attackers, which consists of spontaneous (not planned), presentation of fight in various situations. In Tsunami it is used without objects and with objects.
Hanshi Vladimir Parfieniuk 8 dan explained to those present, that in Karate Tsunami are used all objects, which can be used in fight with assailants, especially nobody knows, which objects the attackers will use and in which situation comes to fight.
Taking into consideration the usefulness of this method, tokui-kata is used as a sports event in Karate Tsunami Championships. However, in this case a person taking part in that event demonstrates that form with chosen by himself/herself objects, which they use in situation of an imaginable aggression.
During the presented training were practiced tokui-kata with a few selected objects:
-
one knife and two knives (tanto)
-
tonfa (multi-functional baton with a side handle)
-
bo (a long stick)
-
hanbo (a short stick and two short sticks)
-
nunchaku (a short flail)
-
kama (a sickle).
At first hanshi Vladimir Parfieniuk 8 dan demonstrated tokui-kata with a given device and then one by one trained the form sportsmen from Iran.
After several hours of training those present persons were already very tired, but satisfied with its results.
Iranian guests agreed, that they were surprised by the high level of Karate Tsunami solutions and the great effectiveness of techniques and Tsunami solutions presented during the sparring. It confirmed them in the accuracy of their choice.
The whole training was quite untypical, because all statements were interpreted from Persian into English, and then into Polish and from Polish into English, and then into Persian.
In this way began Tsunami development in the next country - IRAN.
Soon for similar schooling and exams will come the next group of Iranian instructors.
This fact needs to be emphasized, that Iran is a country of huge possibilities not only because of large territory and the great number of inhabitants, but also very rich culture and the great significance of this country both in its region, and in all over the world. Because of Iran cultural-religious and political determinants Iran is also the country very much closed to any pressures and outside influences, and its inhabitants are famous of their pride and feeling of dignity.
In the end it is worth to inform, that Karate Tsunami is practiced by a lot persons from the Muslim culture, specially from various countries of Asia and Africa. Their profiles gradually will be presented in our Tsunamists’ Gallery.
